BUSY MOMS DO IT BETTER!
All moms are busy working moms whether they stay at home or are out and part of the office environment. Today’s moms can do it all and then some. They run their own businesses, are heads of corporations, and can still run a household better than any Fortune 500 executive.
How do they do it? Well, juggling so many chores is never easy, but busy moms can get it all done with flair when they learn some simple basics that will help them through their activity packed day.
Calendars
Calendars can be fun for the whole family. They help mom organize and the kids can participate when you make them fun by using stickers, washable markers, and bold colors.
Post them up where the whole family can see them, assign chores, and delegate responsibility. Most kids love to be helpful and know that they’ve done something all on their own.
Chores & Rewards
Kids love rewards. They love the sense of accomplishment of finishing a task and receiving a reward. Rewards can be simple such as a fun video, game, or book that they’ve been wanting. Sometimes older kids can earn their “allowance” by performing chores and tasks around the house that will help mom. Be creative, make a list of things that can be delegated, it’s fun for the kids and it helps mom!
Quick and Simple Meals
The great thing about kids is that they are not picky for the most part. Keep your meals simple. Pre-plan them the week before or assign meals to days; i.e, Mondays, mac & cheese night; Tuesdays, pasta night; and so forth. Once in awhile you can find quick and simple recipes to give old favorites a new twist. However, keeping your kitchen and cooking time down is vital to help keep your days organized. Family Night
Family night is always fun. It’s a great time in today’s busy schedule for everyone to come together and share some quality time. Keep it simple with pizza or hot dogs and board games. In today’s hi-tech world sitting down and spending time is a must, board games can be great fun for the whole family.
Move, Move, Move
Finding the time to exercise when you have small children is always a challenge, but 30-minutes a day of fresh air and a little cardio is so important. Grab the stroller, make the baby comfortable, and go for a walk. If you have older children riding biking, rollerblading, playing basket ball, swimming, or even just turning on the radio and dancing for 30 minutes in the family room can be so much fun and a great way to release pent up energy.
Relaxation
What busy mom doesn’t want a spa day? But, let’s be real, when! Well, sometimes we need to take 30 minutes when everyone is in bed and turn our bathrooms into our own personal spa. Some scented candles, bubble bath and oils, a bath pillow, and soft music may do the trick. Unwind a little before going to bed, it helps you sleep better and get that needed rest so you can be up in the morning and do it all over again!
Let’s face it, being a mom is the most difficult of jobs. Balancing family and work is stressful, but we can get through the day a little better if we use all of our resources, do a little planning, and have fun! |
